MiTrust Erasmus project goes online!

The MiTrust partnership announces the creation of an informative website to provide all interested parties in the construction industry with full access to information about the project aims and results.

MiTRUST is an Erasmus project approved by the BFW-NRW (GER) in partnership with 6 organizations from 4 European countries (Germany, Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey), focused on “Fostering migrants’ employment in the construction sector.”

The aim of the project is to develop and deliver an innovative digital tool to assist migrants who work or wish to work in the construction industry in acquiring the necessary language skills, soft skills, and proper construction site behaviors. Addressing the urgent needs of migrants is a major challenge for employers in the European Union's construction industry, as well as for VET teachers and trainers. The project's target audiences include migrants, tutors and trainers, VET providers, construction firms and companies, and so on.

The project focuses on open and distance learning opportunities that will improve career prospects for migrants who wish to relocate to an EU country and enter the construction industry employment market without facing social exclusion and marginalization.

The project is funded by the European Commission under the call for proposals KA2 - Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training and KA220 – and will last from 1/11/21 to 31/10/23.

MiTrust's main activities include:

  • Analyzing the construction industry and identifying construction-related job positions where migrants fit better
  • Developing Open Educational Resources
  • Producing an innovative e-learning platform in the form of integrated software for migrant construction workers based on a modular approach.

The MiTRUST project's aim is to reach as many beneficiaries and end users as possible. It will originally engage at least 10 tutors/trainers and 60 migrant learners who will take part in the online learning and implementation of Use Case Scenarios courses.

Other stakeholders, such as migrant organizations, construction companies and associations, VET providers, NGOs, policymakers, and local, national, and European authorities will be contacted via partners' networks.

Four (4) Multiplier Events are scheduled during the MiTRUST project. These events will take place in Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, and Germany.
